Jakub Janovský (*1984)
Absolvent Ateliéru kresby Jitky Svobodové a Jiřího Petrboka na pražské AVU - Jakub Janovský, patří na české výtvarné scéně mezi výrazné malíře mladé generace. Hlavním vyjadřovacím prostředkem se u Jakuba stává kresba a její nejrůznější způsoby užití. Ke své tvorbě nevyužívá jen klasických formátů papíru a plátna, ale jeho tvorba je charakteristická mimo jiné v užití smaltu či například nástěnné kresby. Často pracuje s kontrasty ostré kresebné linie, přičemž barevně dílo podtrhává černobílým či dvojbarevným kontrastem.
Také tématicky jsou Jakubovy práce velmi signifikantní. Jeho smysl pro ironii, sarkasmus a černý humor, otevírají často velmi palčivá témata lidské existence - jako je například fašismus či jiné formy extremismu. Jeho práce však počítají i s určitou zkratkovitostí a znázorněním nevyřčeného. Obličeje lidí jsou často nespecifikovatelné, nebo zcela prázdné.
Jakubova témata nás často berou zpět do dětských let, avšak za účasti děsivých konfrontací. Motivy dětství často propojuje s určitou formou násilí, strachu či až s rituálními obřady, které odkazují do temných stránek lidství a jeho podstaty a odkrývají naše dětské noční můry. Taková je i kresba, kterou Jakub vytvořil pro Artmat - chlapce schovávajícího se za lebkou vytiskl sítotiskem ve čtyřech barevných variantách v celkovém nákladu 70 sérii.

A graduate of the Drawing Studio led by Jitka Svobodová and Jiří Petrbok at the Prague Academy of Fine Arts - Jakub Janovský is one of the significant young painters on the Czech art scene. The main means of expression for Jakub is drawing and its various uses. He uses not only the classic formats of paper and canvas for his work, but his work is characterized, among other things, in the use of enamel or, for example, wall drawings. He often works with the contrasts of a sharp drawing line, while underlining the work in color with black and white or two-color contrast.
Thematically, Jakub's works are very significant. His sense of irony, sarcasm and black humor often opens up very burning themes in human existence - such as fascism or other forms of extremism. However, his work also counts on a certain brevity and depiction of the unspoken. Human faces are often unspecified or completely blank.
Jakub's themes often take us back to our childhood, but with the participation of terrifying confrontations. He often connects the motives of childhood with a certain form of violence, fear or even with ritual ceremonies, which refer to the dark sides of humanity and its essence and reveal our children's nightmares. Such is the drawing that Jakub created for Artmat - the boy hiding behind his skull was screen printed in four color variants in a total of 70 series.
