Narodila se na divokém západě Krušných hor
v roce 1982. Po absolvování Střední průmyslové školy v Karlových Varech se pustila do světa širokého i blízkého, aby dokončila svou vzdělávací pouť jako knižní grafik a ilustrátor. Její život se do
dnešních dnů plní zejména kulturou a cestováním. Předtím, než přivedla na svět děti, živě vystavovala napříč Českou republikou
a příhraničními zeměmi. K vystavovanému patřily deníky, fotografie, kresby a grafické listy. Na tzv. mateřské dovolené se zaměřila povícero na činnost produkční a dramaturgickou, ve formě pořádání kulturních akcí ze všech uměleckých platforem a na činnost kurátorskou. Mimo jiné se profesně zabývá tiskovou produkcí, materiály,
papírem a tiskem. Aktuální obří vášní
je koláž, které obětuje veškerý možný neexistující volný čas. Propojuje v ní všechny výtvarné techniky a velmi ráda pomocí projektu Mail Art expanduje do světa. O koláži říká: “Je to hra, fantazie, neomezené možnosti, absolutní výtvarno, zároveň zručnost a trpělivost, symbolismus a radost.” Aktuálně zase nezřízeně vystavuje, a to právě zejména zmiňované koláže
a živě učí napříč všemi věkovými kategoriemi. Veřejně vystupuje pod značkou Hecuba Design
a myslí si, že by lidi měli kupovat umění, neboť je zdravé. V Artmatu se představí osm motivů autorčiných koláží/ pohledů, které navazují právě na její dlouhodobý zájem o mail-art, který je znám také jako poštovní či korespondenční umění. Kořeny tohoto typu tvorby, který stojí na interakci,
komunikaci, důvěře a vzájemnosti, sahají do padesátých a šedesátých let minulého století. Mail-art v té době proslavil americký malíř Ray Johnson a vybudoval kolem sebe velkou komunitu příznivců, jež založila The New YorkCorrespondence School. K dalším průkopníkům patřilnapříklad japonec Ray Johnson nebo členové hnutí Fluxus. K posílání drobných uměleckých děl v současnosti existuje
celá řada platforem s různým způsobem fungování a výběrem umělců, například Arizona Collage Collective, PNW Collage Collective, MAAV - Mail art archive Vienna. Helena je aktivní členkou některých z nich a na pravidelné bázi
si vyměňuje umění, které má nejčastěji formu psaní nebo pohlednice rozličných technik (koláž, asambláž, fotografie, výstřižky, texty...), například s členy z Jižní Ameriky, Itálie nebo Turecka. Jako jediná češka byla také zařazena do kolektivního sborníku, který vydal Arizona Collage Collective
v roce 2020.

She was born in the wild west of the Krusne Mountains in 1982. After graduating from the Secondary School of Industry in Karlovy Vary, she ventured into the wide and near world to complete her educational journey as a book designer and illustrator. To this day, her life is filled mainly with culture and travel. Before bringing children
into the world, she exhibited vividly across the Czech Republic and bordering countries. Exhibited works included diaries, photographs, drawings and prints. During her so-called maternity leave, she focused on production and dramaturgical activities, in the form of organizing cultural events from all artistic platforms and curatorial activities. Among other things, she is professionally involved in print
production, materials, paper and printing. Her current giantpassion is collage, to which she sacrifices all possible non- existent free time. She combines all artistic techniques in itand is very happy to expand into the world with the Mail Art project. About collage she says “It is a game, imagination, unlimited possibilities, absolute art, at the same time skill and patience, symbolism and joy.” She is currently exhibiting again, unscheduled, especially the aforementioned collage
and live teaching across all ages. She publicly performs under the brand Hecuba Design and thinks people should buy art because it is healthy. Artmat will feature eight of the artist’s collage/view motifs, which relate specifically to her long-standing interest in mail-art, also known as postal or correspondence art. The roots of this type of work, which is based on interaction, communication, trust and reciprocity, date back to the 1950s and 1960s. Mail-art was made famous at that timeby the American painter Ray Johnson, who built a large community of supporters around him and founded The New York Correspondence School. Other pioneers included the Japanese Ray Johnson and members of the Fluxus movement.
There are now a number of platforms for sending small artworks, with different ways of operating and selecting artists, such as the Arizona Collage Collective, PNW Collage Collective, MAAV - Mail art archive Vienna. Helena is an active member of some of them and on a regular basis exchanges art, which most often takes the form of writing
or postcards of various techniques (collage, assemblage, photography, clippings, texts...), for example with members from South America, Italy or Turkey. She was also the only Czech artist included in the collective anthology published by the Arizona Collage Collective in 2020.
