Kateřina vystudovala akademii výtvarných umění v Praze. Diplomovala v ateliéru Josefa Bolfa, dříve studovala také
v ateliéru Michaela Rittsteina, Jiřího Sopka a Roberta Šalandy. Absolvovala studijní stáž na FBAUP v Portugalsku a pracovní
stáž v Berlíně u Roberta Barty. Autorka je zastoupena galerií DoubleQGallery se sídlem v Hong Kongu a Budapešti. Ve své tvorbě mapuje Kateřina lidskou potřebu přivlastňování.
Její důkladné pozorování rozprostírá svět náhod, myšlenek, emocí a ukotvení v čase a prostoru. Věnuje se objevování přírody
a v ní neživých i živých předmětů, které si odnáší jako talismany. Pro její tvorbu je typická kresebnost, se kterou pracuje na nenašepsované plátno, druhá poloha je více maliřsky hmotná a expresivní. Petr Vaňous její tvorbu popisuje takto: Kateřina Ondrušková se profiluje jako výrazná spontánní a esenciální malířka. Námětové zdroje pro své obrazy nachází
v přírodních rámcích (např. zahrady)
a přírodních procesech (růst, květenství, dozrávání). Její malířský rukopis přijímá tuto
vitalitu a stává se jejím paralelním projevem. Pro obrazy Kateřiny Ondruškové je charakteristická čistá, uvolněná
barevnost, expresivní rukopis a redukce námětu na znak, či znakovou strukturu. Ale je to především samotná radost
z malby, z pocitu, že lze vizuálně a přitom nepopisně zaznamenat pohyb emoce
a podržet ji tak mimo uplývající
čas, co činí autorčinu tvorbu tak vitální.
Pro Artmat jsme vybraly šest děl, které vystihují vícero poloh tvorby Kateřiny Ondruškové, díky čemuž si divák udělá uceleňejší představu o koncepci autorčiny práce.

Kateřina graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. She graduated in the studio of Josef Bolf, and previously studied in the studios of Michael Rittstein, Jiří Sopek and Robert Šalanda. She completed a study internship at FBAUP in Portugal and a work internship in Berlin with Robert
Barta. The artist is represented by DoubleQGallery based in Hong Kong and Budapest. Kateřina’s work explores the human need for appropriation. Her thorough observation spans a world of coincidences, thoughts, emotions and anchoring in time and space. She is dedicated to discovering
nature and the inanimate and animate objects in it, which she takes away as talismans. She works, characteristically with drawing on raw canvas, the latter position being more painterly material and expressive. Petr Vaňous describes her work as follows: Kateřina Ondrušková profiles herself as an expressive spontaneous and essential painter. She finds the sources for her paintings
in natural frames (e.g. gardens) and natural processes (growth, flowering, ripening). Her painting manuscript embraces this vitality and becomes a parallel manifestation of it. Kateřina Ondrušková’s paintings are characterized by a clean, relaxed colour palette, expressive handwriting and
a reduction of the subject to a sign or sign structure. But above all, it is the sheer joy of painting, the feeling that one can visually yet non-descriptively record the movement of
an emotion and thus hold it beyond the passage of time, that makes the artist’s work so vital.
For Artmat, we have selected six works that represent multiple positions of Kateřina Ondrušková’s work, which will give the viewer a better idea of the concept of the artist’s
work.
