Vizuální umělkyně. Pracují spolu jako autorská dvojice od roku 2014, kdy se setkaly na společné výstavě Netlač řeku, teče sama v pražské galerii Berlínskej model. Autorky jsou absolventkami ateliéru fotografie na Vysoké škole uměleckoprůmyslové v Praze, přičemž obě podnikly mezioborové stáže - Fastrová v ateliéru sochařství a Pošová v ateliéru animace. Obě autorky spojují témata věnující se vztahu mezi přírodou a kulturou, dopadem lidské existence na zvířata a přírodu a také je fascinuje symbol hada. Své projekty často staví na principech recyklace a udržitelnosti, tedy na uvědomělém přístupu k výběru materiálů a jejich následné zpracování. Často se jedná o nalezené materiály či papír nebo secondhandový textil, např. který do své další tvorby zapojují bez využití elektrické energie. Právě zdůraznění procesu tvorby, jeho neodmyslitelné propojení s dílem i zkoumání toho, jak proces výsledné dílo ovlivňuje, je pro tuto autorskou dvojici velmi důležitým. Formálně volí ke každému dílu nejvhodnější médium - rovněž jako u projektu pro Artmat a Česká centra.
Pro projekt si autorky vybraly jako ústřední motiv text Life finds a way. Jedná se o výrok z kultovního hollywoodského filmu Jurský park, který autorky od začátku své spolupráce používají jako jakési motto. Můžeme ho vnímat jakožto symbol životní cesty nebo naději v to, že si příroda a živé bytosti vždy najdou cestu jak přežít, a to i v těch nejnáročnějších podmínkách. V díle autorky využívají motto jako samotný objekt či zprávu, jež se rozhodly zvěčnit a vypálit do keramické hlíny tak, aby samotný výrok dostal větší váhu, než kdyby byl například vytištěn na papíře - tedy na mnohem pomíjivějším materiálu. Jako talisman tak může zůstat v životě majitelů nadále a připomínat, že život si vždy najde cestu.
Visual artists. They have worked as a creative duo since 2014, when they met at the joint exhibition Netlač řeku, teče sama (Don’t force the river, it flows itself) at the gallery Berlínskej Model. The artists are graduates from the Department of Photography at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, while also undertaking interdisciplinary internships – Fastrová in a sculpture studio and Pošová in an animation one. Both artists combine themes focusing on the relationship between nature and culture, the impact of humanity on animals and nature, and they are fascinated by the symbol of the snake. They often build their projects on the principles of recycling and sustainability, which means on a conscious approach to the selection of materials and their subsequent treatment. Often it involves found materials and paper or second-‑hand textiles, for example, which they incorporate into their further work without the use of electricity. What is highly important for the artistic duo is the emphasis on the creative process and its essential interconnection with the work and the examination as a process influencing the final work. They select with regard to form the most suitable medium for each piece.
The artists have selected the statement “Life finds a way” as the central motif for the project. The line is from the cult Hollywood film Jurassic Park (1993, dir. Stephen Spielberg), and they have adopted it as something of a motto since the start of their collaboration. It can be seen as a symbol of life’s journey or the hope that nature and living beings will always find a way to survive, even in the most challenging conditions. The artists use the motto as an object or message itself in the work and decided to immortalise and fire it into ceramic clay. Thus, it gained greater weight than “only” being, for example, printed on paper – i.e. on more ephemeral material. Thus, this object can remain from now on in the life of the owner like a talisman and remind them that “life always finds a way”.
